Hi Tara,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Amilcare Santini (1910-1975) was an Italian sculptor known for his classical and neoclassical works. Born in Florence, he was deeply influenced by the rich artistic heritage of his city. Santini's sculptures often depicted mythological and historical themes, showcasing his skill in capturing human emotion and form. His works were celebrated for their meticulous detail and elegance. Throughout his career, Santini contributed significantly to the cultural and artistic landscape of 20th-century Italy.
Santini's lively figural forms - including dancers as in this example - are not terribly rare, with at least 50 having been sold in the past 20 years on just one internet auction platform (LiveAuctioneers). Prices vary depending on size and style, with more recent ones of comparable size bringing between $50 and $150.
