It’s ceramic or porcelain we don’t know which. About 30 inches high and very detailed. It has been broken by a vacation rental guest and we aren’t sure as to the value of the item, but it is clearly hand painted and we can’t find a similar designed vase anywhere at the moment
I purchased it at an estate sale
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a chinese second half 20th century hand painted porcelain vase in the manner of satsuma pottery, marked at the base with the "kutani" nine villages characters and "hand painted Satsuma". It is a contradiction in itself , plus the type of the painting is typical for imitations from Jingdezhen.
Viewed from a western point of view it has to be regarded a fake with misleading signature. The value would be zero. Nonetheless some people seem to like this or were mislead by the seller. The high estimate is based on similar vases in good condition sold at auction recently.
