Screenprint in color on size XL t-shirt, never worn.
This screenprinted t-shirt features a sketch of Keith Haring drawn by Andy Warhol. It was signed 32 yrs ago by Keith Haring when he was an "Artist in Residence" at Cranbrook Academy in Detroit in 1986. My father, who is a photographer in Detroit had it signed when he attended an event where Mr. Haring was painting a large mural on a wall. The photos that I attached are actual photos of the event taken by my father. On a side note, the mural was painted over when he left..
This is a vintage 20th century screenprint t-shirt, autographed by Keith Haring, with an image of the artist, Keith Haring (1958 - 1990) that was created by the artist Andy Warhol (1928-1987) around 1986. The shirt was sold through Haring's Pop Shop in New York City during his inaugural year. This particular shirt, never worn, in size XL, was presented in 1987 by Haring to a photographer during an Artist Residency at Cranbrook Academy in Detroit. The autograph is dated and dedicated to the photographer's daughter, Betsy. The photographs of Haring creating parts in a group mural during his residency add provenance to the history of obtaining the shirt and are a mini-archive of his time at Cranbrook in 1987. Some portions of the mural, which was later painted over, are captured in the images. The estimate is for teh grouping of the shirt and photos together and is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
I don't think the photos have been published, they are personal photos. My father probably still has the negatives.
Is this still for sale?
Thanks for inquiring. I sold it last year on eBay for $4200.
Were any of the photos published, or are they all personal photos that have not yet been seen in public? And do you also still have the photo negatives?
