Very detailed Scrimshawed Powder Horn .. Signed and dated 1819
Appx 11 inches (it’s a Horn ..curved)
I inherited both, the Long Rifle or Musket (which I just sent to you for info and appraisal) and the Powder Horn from my Aunt who passed away last October . Unfortunately she had severe Dementia for over 30 years so finding out any information on those 2 items was pretty much impossible … What I do know though, is that the Rifle was hung on a Wall in her Home and the Powder Horn was hanging from the Rifle … Don’t know if Rifle and Powder Horn belonged together (i.e., came from same owner ..???..) I have a short video of the Powder Horn, showing very beautiful scrimshawed details with signature and date of 1819 … Hopefully I will be able to forward the video . I have a couple of pictures to send, but video shows much more detail ..
