Hello Clyde,
I’m very glad that you chose Mearto for your online appraisal,
Considering the photographs, overall pattern, casting and the material, I concluded that this is an Iron Cast Buddha Statuette made in Vietnam. The piece dates back to period between 1960-1968. The amount of detail is considerably high in comparison to pieces from 1980's. There is considerable rust due to the iron material use on the item. The Buddha is shown in a position where he is clasping his hands with a down looking meditating position, one of the classical depictions of Buddha. The patina of the iron cast seems intact, although there are partial rusty areas on the surfaces most of the outer body seems decent. Inner body on the other hand is completely rusty as expected due to age. The piece can be considered as a high-end quality souvenir of it's time. The piece is in good condition with minimal signes of age and use and a minor gash from shrapnel.

Dear Clyde, Bronze pieces does not shows rust in this way like your piece’s underneath. It’s visibly classical iron rusting based on the pictures you’ve provided. The piece’s general design matches with those of late 50’s and 60’s therefore it’s mentioned perşod is the most likely. If you have further questions please don’t hesitate to ask. Thanks.
You mention the piece is iron. It is not, it is bronze. You mention it was cast in 1960s. I can assure you it was cast well before that.
