I have tried to do some research and the only other jacket like this that I have found was listed on Etsy by another seller for $10,000. I have included a photo of the tag, but I can’t find any information on the brand, but it does appear to be handmade. The inside is 100% silk and it still has the original shoulder pads and the original price tag. There is some light pilling of the yellow fabric around the collar and bottom. And there are a few spots where some string has come frayed. But overall, it is in good condition. No rips or stains, no odor, no large areas of missing beads.
It is listed as a size M
Hi Alicia,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The Tadashi label refers to Tadashi Shoji, a Japanese-American fashion designer known for his elegant and accessible eveningwear, especially for women of all shapes and sizes. Born in Sendai, Japan in 1948, he is based in Los Angeles, California, where he launched his label in 1982 after studying fine art and design in Japan. He later trained in fashion design at Los Angeles Trade–Technical College. He also worked under renowned costume designer Bill Whitten before starting his own line.
Tadashi’s designs are known for flattering silhouettes (especially for real, curvy, and plus-size bodies), frequent use of draping, lace, tulle, jersey, and mesh insets, innovative stretch fabrics that provide elegance and comfort, with a strong emphasis on affordable luxury — high-end eveningwear at accessible price points.
Etsy - like Ebay - is an unregulated and unvetted marketplace where sellers can ask whatever prices they want so it's not quite as reliable a sales database as others like Chairish, 1stDibs and others.
If you paid $150 for this, you got it at a very good price. I would not be surprised to see this in a vintage clothing auction sell for between $800-1,200

You can post it for auction on Catawiki, a global auction platform Mearto has partnered with - for information, see this link: https://www.mearto.com/catawiki. If you decide to try selling through Catawiki, this other link (https://prf.hn/click/camref:1101lHtv3/pubref:delia) will help you short-track the process.
If that's not of interest, you can reach out to any auction houses in your area that sell fashion to see if they're interested. Some houses - like Augusta Auctions (in Vermont) - ONLY sell vintage and antique clothing - it might be worth checking with them to see if they can recommend someone closer to you.
I hope this helps; let me know if you have additional questions.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend,
Delia
Awesome! I actually only paid $6 for it so yeah, what a deal!
Any recommendations on where to sell something like this?
