There are two chairs, one has arms, one is armless and a bench. The pieces were all recently re-upholstered in white velvet (about 10 years ago). I believe they were my great grandmothers, so early 19th century, but possibly older. There are wheels on the bottom of each piece. They are wood, but I'm not sure much more information than that! Bench is 40" wide X 22" deep X 34" High (seat 16" high). Arm chair 24" Wide X 22" Deep X 34" high (seat 16" high). Chair 21" wide X 19" deep X 34" high (16" high seat)
These were my great grandmothers, early 19th century.
Dear Emily,
Thank you for your request. The apprised object is a furniture set consisting out of a bench with the measurements of 40" x 22" x 34" and one chair with armrests and one chair without. All pieces were made out of mahogany wood in the style of the late 18th or early 19th century.
This piece is in good condition and there are no serious damages visible except a missing piece in the backrest of the bench.
An estimation would be between 1000 to 2000 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
With best regards,
Georg
Dear Emily,
Try to negotiate with the dealer but usually, they try to lower the price.
Please upload the other object as a new request.
With kind regards,
Georg
Thank you! If I was to try to sell to a antiques dealer, do you think I could get close to $2K for them? Or does selling to a dealer lean towards the lower end of the range? Also, there is another piece I would like appraised that was from the same grandmother. Can I have you appraise it as well since there may be some similarities with this current set? I will pay for it to be appraised, but just want it to be part of this set.
