Set of 3 antique dolls
3 porcelain dolls. Male, female, child. Victorian appears to be the style of the clothing. Heads are porcelain with bodies made of fabric. Hands look to more of a bisque. The hair is molded black, blue eyes.
I believe these were my grand fathers. He was born in 1900. Other than that there is no more information on the dolls.

It is a beautiful set of 3 dolls. Such antique dolls are being offered at auction on a regular basis. The dolls have heads made of porcelain with painted faces and painted hair, the lower arms and lower legs are partly made of porcelain and partly of linen or composition. The dolls were made in Germany around 1880-1900 when this type of dolls were in fashion. They are called shoulderhead dolls. When appraising items like this the condition of the head is the most important thing on the dolls - they must be intact without any chips, hairlines or cracks. It is hard to tell the condition from the photos, but I assume that they are all in good condition without any faults. This is why the appraisal is conditional. The clothes appear to be original with minor alterations.
The estimate provided is for a well-advertised specialised online toys auction, where I believe the three dolls has the best chance of realising its fullest potential. However, there is no measurement for the sentimental value you might attach to the three dolls. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
