This is an impressive set of six antique hand-painted chairs from the mid to late 19th century. Classic country "fancy chairs" of their era, the painted brown wooden spindle back, plank seat chairs feature decorative floral painting across the back rails, seat, and legs. Very rare to obtain a set of six in near perfect condition. CONDITION In good condition with wear consistent with age and use. General finish wear with light scuffs and I am seeking an evaluation of a matching set of six (6) black-stenciled "Fancy Chairs" in the Hitchcock style, recently recovered from my grandmother’s storage. Description: • Quantity: 6 Side Chairs. • Design: Classic black lacquer with gold-toned fruit and floral stencils on the back splats. • Seats: Solid wood "plank" seats. • Markings: No visible signatures on the back rail; however, the stenciling shows characteristic wear. • Condition: Original finish with moderate patina and some paint loss on the seats and spindles consistent with age. No structural breaks or major repairs noted. I have attached photos of the front, side profile, and underside of the chairs. I am interested in knowing the approximate age (19th century vs. 20th-century reproduction) and a current fair market value for the set. Thank you for your time, Melinda 469-379-1419
