The bowl is glazed on the top area and bottom is bare. On the bottom there are designs of starfish, barnacles and sea weed. There is a signature but I can’t make it out

Hi Susana,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
How big is this? I can't get a sense of the scale from the photos...
Thanks in advance to confirm,
Delia
Any luck?
Hi Susana,
I've not been able to find other shells signed by the same maker but other shell-form bowls of similar size, all from the second half 20th century, are bringing between $150-250 at auction. If this were to go to auction, it would be catalogued as:
A vintage part-glazed pottery shell-form bowl
second half 20th Century, signed 'Sell'
glazed on one side, the other side encrusted with barnacles, sea weed and a starfish
5 inches high, 10 inches wide
$150-250*
*represents a fair-market value for auction purposes; retail or asking price may vary.
Please let us know if you have additional items to appraise, and thank you for using Mearto.
It is 10 inches in wide, 5 inches high.
