Hi Koran,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
BAPE STA (or Bapesta) sneakers are heavily inspired by the Nike Air Force 1 silhouette.
They became a major fashion staple in the early 2000s in Japan and the U.S., especially in hip-hop culture. Known for their bold patent leather, camouflage, and bright colors with the signature "STA" lightning star logo in place of the Nike swoosh. In 2007, BAPE released a Kanye West x BAPE Bapesta, one of the earliest Kanye sneaker collaborations ever — before his Nike Air Yeezys (2009) or adidas Yeezy line (2015).
The design was based on the Dropout Bear, Kanye’s mascot from his first three albums. Features include a tan upper with brown, pink, and orange tones and a bear graphic on the heel. They predate Kanye’s mainstream sneaker empire and are part of an era when BAPE was at peak cultural influence, especially in hip-hop.
While these can bring between $2,000 and $5,000 on retail platforms, their fair market values - if they were not signed by Kanye West - would be beween $1,500 and $2,500 depending on condition. However, because this pair is signed by Kanye West (and which has been verified by the accompanying COA) elevates their fair-market value to $3,500-4,500 at auction
