I have an approx 20 inch tall, full Murano black and gold handblown stallion, rearing up on his hind legs. Sculpture stands up on his hind legs and gold tail. I have a certificate of authenticity, and the sculpture is signed by the glassmaker. I bought this in 1999 on a trip to Venice and took a boat tour to Murano Island and went to the Vetreria Murano d'Arte studio. In 1999, and I paid $3000 for the stallion then in 1999. It has been kept in pristine condition and is currently wrapped in many layers of bubble wrap, blankets, in a trunk by itself.
Approx 20 inches tall (standing up), length of stallion from head to tail tip is 25inches, and the width of the stallion is about 5inches.
I bought it directly from the Vetreria Murano Art glassmaking studio in Murano, italy. It is signed by the glassmaker, and I have a certificate of authenticity.
Hello Anne,
I’m very glad that you chose Mearto for your online appraisal,
Considering the photographs, overall pattern, glass quality and the colours, I concluded that this is an Entirely Hand Blown Murano Glass Stallion. The piece dates back to the year 1999, 14th of December. The piece was produced by the Vetreria Murano Arte, a known company and atelier in Murano Island. The piece was characterized mostly with a single colour, black. The piece's mane is enhanced by use of golden particules. The stallion is depicted in a rearing moment, and is quite very imposing. The piece's tail, mane and ears are made in a more transparent tone of black, a very dark and transparent grey to be specific. The piece is hand blown by the master Giorgio Giuman of Murano. Giuman is known for his animal figures, and it is possible to find some other famously produced animal sculptures by him sold at auctions. The piece was purchased for the equivalent of 2.737 Euro's at the time corresponding to 5.300 Italian Liret. The current owner is the first owner of the piece and the stallion was commisioned by her. The face and the mouth area of the piece is executed in high precision and quality, which is one of the most important feature of high-end pieces in this category. It is a high quality, authentic Murano piece. The piece is in good condition without any visible problems.

p.s. I had previously neglected to include a photo of the guarantee itself and only sent a pic of thee envelope! So sorry or that oversight. I have just added the actual guarantee of authenticity to my pictures. But I will do as I promised and send more photos when I get back to the storage facility. Thanks.
Dear Anne, thank you very much for your explanation. It seems like a very special piece indeed. I’m exited for the photos, please let me know. Have a wonderful day!
Kind regards,
Dear Denizalp D, We have retrieved our Murano original rearing stallion from our storage unit (as I'd said) and I've taken 11 more pix for your review (added to My Collection). Please let me know what you think! Anne
Dear Denizalp, D. I have not heard back from you since I sent the additional photos of my original Murano rearing stallion sculpture. Can I get an appraisal and proceed with the sale? Thank you. anne
The sculpture is in storage in another town from where I currently am. I will be at the storage facility the week of June 24 and will unwrap the stallion and take quite a few more (and better) photos of the sculpture along with the signature of the glass artist. Thank you for your patience! Anne
