This is a chain stitch embroidery caftan, probably from the Middle East or North Africa. The stitching looks handmade. The motifs are similar to those used in Turkey, Iran, or Morocco. (Chain stitch embroidery originated in China but spread westward.) The fabric looks like linen from the photographs, but you can check if it is silk using the methods linked to below.
