Dear Keni,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The presented object appears to be a tapestry with the measurements of 48 x 35 inches. The rug was probably made out of silk and cotton and has a floral pattern which is more likely from the Qum area. This piece was made in the second half of the 20th century.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 500 to 1000 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
Georg
Dear Keni,
Thank you for your email. Sadly we have a consigning limit of 1.000 USD. Please offer your artwork to a local auction house that lists their auction on international platforms to reach out as many possible buyers as possible. Or offer it trough an online-based auction or selling platform.
With kind regards,
Georg
How would one go about selling this? I unfortunately have no use for it and only have it because I saved it from the Goodwill bins. It's beautiful and I want someone to be able to enjoy it. I have no wall space for it and refuse to put it on the ground because I have a naughty dog. I currently have it on a curtain rod and hung on a coat rack out of the sunlight to keep it safe. Any advice is appreciated.
