What does this mean?

Dear Todd,

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.

The presented object appears to be a Chinese Jian sword with a length of 38.5 inches. This straight sword is common for sport like Tai-Chi in modern times and this piece was made in the second half of the 20th century. It was made out of steel, brass and a glass decor stone.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 80 to 150 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.

With kind regards,
Georg
