I have all parts and accessories The cabinet top has water damage Can’t find much rust Do you know what model this is? This belonged to my grandmother She lived in Detroit MI 1940s
Hi Mary,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
There should be a serial number on this sewing machine that will tell me what model it is, and where and when it was made. Can you tell me in a comment box below what that serial number is?
Thanks,
Delia
Good morning, Mary,
On Singer sewing machines, serial numbers are usually stamped into the metal frame, not on a paper label. The exact location varies by era and model, but these are the most common places to check: Bed of the machine – on the flat surface just in front of or to the right of the pillar (arm); Under the bed – flip the machine or look underneath near the front edge; Right side of the pillar – especially on older treadle and hand-crank machines
Other possible locations to look include the back of the machine’s arm or base, near the motor mount on early electric models or on the underside of the base for some portable models.
You should look for a letter prefix followed by numbers (e.g., G873421 or AF123456); only the earliest models, which this doesn't appear to be, did not have letter prefixes.
I hope this helps!
Delia
Where would that be found please?
