Small sculpture of an ancient figure possibly religious. Ceramic or stone possibly terracotta. Could be meso american. Probably from same period and location as Old Face which was just submitted for appraisal. Note: the figure is in my parent's flat in London.

It was a gift to my parents at least 50 years ago from a friend who had a collection of New Guinea artifacts from Sepik River. I don't believe this item is New Guinea in origin.

This could be from Teotihuacan, where the Old Head came from; stylistically, it could also be from either the Toltec or Olmec civilizations, which were in Central and Southern Mexico, respectively.

In the style of Teotihuacan, Olmec or Toltec civilizations, 16th Century or earlier
The standing figure with stylized features wearing a headdress, detailed collar and tunic.

CONDITION: appears to be in good condition; with some losses and crackelure commensurate with age.
