Valuable handmade decorative sculpture in Murano glass, in which are plugged three tropical multicolor fishes. It is a great handcrafted gift idea made in Italy! Inherited from my mother - made at least 60 years ago.

Hi Silma,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Murano glass aquariums (sometimes called “aquarium blocks” or “vetri sommersi with fish”) are a fascinating niche within Venetian glass art, and they’ve become highly collectible. Ones that are signed and/or can be attributed to a specific maker are almost always more desirable to collectors. I don't see any signatures on this - and an online search hasn't turned up any matches close enough to justify an attribution; other unattributed ones of comparable vintage (mid 20th Century) and size usually sell at auction for less than $150.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
Murano School, mid 20th Century
