Spanish revival
Overall height is 42-1/4 and overall width is 18-1/2. The frame is carved of wood with metal filigree under seat. Seat and back are leather...very thick leather. Finished with brass buttons.
Jesse Merrick gave to my father. Jesse Merrick advented P.E in the U.S. She was a world traveler. As was her father who was Mark Twains co captain.

This is a 20th century 'fantasy' chair that is based on Spanish Baroque furniture from the 17th century. The wood is machine produced and polychromed with a cast brass metal stretcher that is influenced by cast iron metal stretcher brackets on Spanish made furniture. There is a tooled leather seat and back. This is Spanish influenced, however the chair was more likely produced in American by an American furniture production company. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
