What does this mean?

Dear James,

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.

The presented object appears to be a blade of a sword that was made in the 20th century. The blade is decorated with an etched decor and such swords for decorative purposes were often made in Toledo Spain. This single blade would be very difficult to sell because it is just a part of a sword.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 10 to 20 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.

With kind regards,
Georg
