This throne stand over 5ft tall s incredibly carved, hand painted on OLD gilded leather with bronze acents I believe it's walnut. The condition is pretty good no breaks or noticable repairs, the leather has some minor cracks and is missing quite a bit of the bottom trim but still has great color on the top portion and still some on the seat. The bottom of the cushion is a bit worse for ware but that would seem consistent with the age and amount of use. This piece is i also surprisingly ncredibly comfortable .
I purchased all the contents of a prominent estate 399 Front St in Lahaina, Maui HI. The family name is Hinton, they were the founders of the Maui Yacht club.
This is an antique, late 19th century to early 20th century, about 1885 - 1900, Spanish Renaissance Revival style carved mahogany 'throne' armchair with Spanish tooled leather seat and back. The polychromed (colored) back has a crest representing coat of arms of Castile and Leon. Here is a link for you regarding that particular crest and its associations: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coat_of_arms_of_Castile_and_Le%C3%B3n
It is likely this was produced in the Philippines. The Castile and Leon crest is also used by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Manila. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
Any time is fine. No rush
