Hi Maureen,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The Spherical Furniture Company was a mid‑century American manufacturer/design brand best known for producing rounded, modular, upholstered furnishings—particularly sleeper‑sofas, flip‑futons, and circular lounge pieces. They made Mid-20th-century flip‑futon lounge designed by Frank Petersilie, marketed under the Spherical Furniture Co branding—a versatile piece that converts from chaise to sleeper. These designs emphasized playful geometry (cylinders, circles) and high comfort—typical of 1960s–70s-era American modern furniture.
These designs don't come to market very often but when they do, they usually retail for between $3,000 and $4,000 and, when sold at auction, bring fair-market prices ranging from $1,500-2,500.
