A Thai, most likely late 19th century, depiction of a standing crowned buddha on a base dressed in a long robe and dhoti around the waist. His hands outstretched in abhaya mudra, „offering protection“. This is a mudrā (gesture) that is the gesture of reassurance and safety, which dispels fear and accords divine protection and bliss in Buddhism and other Indian religions.
