What does this mean?

A 17th century statue depicting Bala Krishna. Krishna steels butter ( the ball in its hand ). It has a philosophical meaning; the stealing of the soul (Atma) of a person. This is one story but there are more. It is worn out by touching a lot in the past. It means it is used for ritual purposes.
