Stephen Sprouse (1953–2004) was an influential American fashion designer and artist renowned for blending high fashion with street culture. His innovative designs, characterized by vibrant Day-Glo colors, graffiti-inspired prints, and punk-rock aesthetics, left a lasting impact on the fashion industry.
Born in Dayton, Ohio, and raised in Columbus, Indiana, Sprouse demonstrated artistic talent from a young age. He interned with designer Bill Blass at 14 and briefly attended the Rhode Island School of Design before moving to New York City. There, he worked as an assistant to Halston, gaining valuable experience in high-end fashion design. launched his own label in the early 1980s, debuting collections that fused luxury fabrics with bold, graffiti-style graphics.
