Stone Profile sculpture
Profile stone carving. It was purchased by my father over 50 years ago from the estate of Huntington Cairns. Cairns wrote many art books and worked at the National Gallery of Art . My father is now in a nursing home. Not sure what this really the sculpture really is. Thank you

Once owned by Huntington Cairns. He was an author, as well as Secretary, Treasurer, and General Counsel to the National Gallery of Art for decades since its inception. He passed away in the mid 1980s He. Was a mentor to my father. My father purchased this statue from Cairns’ estate auction.

This is a beautiful stone profile bust of a potential, buddha statue, with a very particular style, probably SE asian-style from early 20th century. It is in pristine condition, with fine details and hand-carved in stone.
