Sword 2 (possibly kitana) is made of a dense and heavy metal (titanium?). It's approximately 39-40 inches long. There is minor rusting. The guard and sheath is made of steel. The scabbard has a hard substance on it, maybe a resin of some sort. The handle is the wrapped with a fabric.
My father owned it. i inherited the sword when he passed
Dear Daniel,
Thank you for your help and patience.
The presented object appears to be a modern katana sword made in the 20th century with a length of around 40 inches. It comes with a scabbard and an additional knife (kozuka). The workmanship and the details indicate that this piece was made in the 20th century.
Comparable objects were recently offered and sold on the international auction market.
This piece is in good condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 60 to 120 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.
With kind regards,
George
I’ve uploaded additional photos of the blade and scabbard. I also discovered a small knife that was embedded into the scabbard. The knife is included in the new photos
