Unknown, believe to have a lot value as an old style carpenter offer me substantial amount of money 20 years ago. Please confirm value, antique or vintage and history if Possible. It also has like 3 holes in the back Panel-see picture.
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal and the additional photos. This appears to be a rather modern reproduction furniture "baroque - colonial style -shabby chic" console or side table. The modern plywood, the patinated brass pulls, the paint, the artificial traces of use and the patination all fit into the same category. The "shabby chic" style was invented in the 1980s, soon after new furniture in that style was created by Asian and Mexican manufacturers. I can´t explain why anyone would offer a substantial amount for this table, perhaps some other item or reason was involved. The estimate is based on similar items sold at auction. "Asking prices" in the trade can be higher and vary.
Thank you for your appraisal but think you are wrong on one. This a table and it is all wood there is no plywood and when someone offer me a substantial $ was the only item involved, there were no others, that someone is old school Carpenter when furniture was at its best so I guess he new the value of the table. I got the table in 1989 and it was already in someone else hands for over 10 years.
I assume the base of the drawers is made from plywood. As a drawer moves in and out of the frame, it produces wear in the drawer frame, there is very little wear, which would indicate that the table is not that old. I can only give an estimate on the current market situation based on current auction results for comparables. It is a very decorative table nonetheless.
