This is a a later 20th century art pottery piece. Technically, an 'antique' by definition is any object 100 years old and older. This is vintage and dates to about the 1970s. It was formed on a pottery wheel. The stoneware medium is a type of sandy clay, usually found around the Mid-Atlantic Eastern Seaboard of the U.S. and it is done with a speckled glaze and cobalt blue underglaze striping around the body. Most studio art potters are small local businesses, many towns across the country have local or studio pottery artisans in their areas. The majority are unlisted and unknown outside of their areas. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
Wonderful! :)
