Heavy Tavern Table purchased for $350 -45 years ago. It was already an antique when it was purchased.
My mother bought it in either Kentucky or Indiana. It is 35.25 inches wide and 28.5 inches tall.
This is a later 19th century, Victorian era, hand constructed solid wood tavern or farm work table. It is vernacular furniture, meaning built by a craftsperson and not manufactured by a furniture company. The wood is possibly a quarter sawn figured cherry. The hardware used for joining the legs to the base dates this to the later 19th century. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
