What does this mean?

Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a japanese Satsuma earthenware lidded jar, moriage decorated with japanese folk, patterns, foliage and meander border. The jar can be dated to the Meiji period, possibly to the 1880s. Satsuma ware of this era is very common, it was mass produced at the time and exported to western countries. The estimate is based on similar items sold at auction. There is no measurement for the sentimental value you migh attach to the item.
