What does this mean?

Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a late 19th century Jaeger & Co. porcelain coffee set. The tall coffee pot and the cups are hand painted with violet and light pink roses on white and light turquoise ground. Before the invention of paper coffee filters, the coffee powder was put directly into the pot, where the powder would settle at the bottom, hence the tall and slender design. The estimate is based on similar offered or sold at auction. "Asking prices" in the trade can be higher and vary.
