Dear Jeannie,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
This is a beautiful Kinnara, Thai style, probably made around mid 20th century. A kinnara is a celestial musician, part human and part bird, who are musically paradigmatic lovers, in Buddhism. In these traditions, the kinnaras (male) and kinnaris (female counterpart) are two of the most beloved mythological characters.
Good condition.
Hello Jeannie! You can contact Mearto services for further information regarding selling it.
Thank you!
Thank you David. Do you know how I could go about selling it? I don’t want it.
I am so happy that you were able to determine what it represents. I love the meaning of the statue. However, I do not want to keep it.
But WOW! I tried to google it many times and came up with nil, well except for the Thai heritage.
Best,
Jeannie
