I know the statue is bronze. I am not sure who made it but it’s in excellent condition. Custom pedestal was made and is 21” wide by 18” tall.
18” at the base by 50” tall
Hi Rochelle,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
This is a bronze sculpture called "Falconel," by sculptor Mario Nardini (American, 20th Century). It was made in an edition of 50 and there may be an edition number on the base. A comparable example (https://www.invaluable.com/auction-lot/mario-nardini-american-20th-ct-242-c-1854b9aa16) brought $480 when it sold in 2018 against an estimate of $100-200; I would value this for auction purposes at $300-500.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
Mario Nardini (American, 20th Century)
"Falconel", mid 20th Century
Depicting a nude woman with cold-painted green drape, on a realistically carved base, on a sculpted black and white base.
50 inches tall
CONDITION: This appears to be in good condition
PROVENANCE: Inherited
$ 300-500*
