These are two volumes from the 1904 limited edition printing of 750 copies of the 11 volume set of works by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. The 2 volumes are Inferno and Purgatoria from The Divine Comedy of Dante Aligiheri as translated by Longfellow. The set was published at Cambridge Press for Houghton Mifflin and was part of the Editions de Luxe series (note, not Lure). Although only printed in an edition of 750 copies, there were a number of limited edition printings that preceded this set from 1904; in addition, this is not a complete set as it is only 2 volumes of the 11. The estimate is for both of the books together and is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
