Getting this into
Bought in Murano, Italy at the studio, from the artist
Dear Felecia,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry. So that I may best assist you, can you please name the measurements?
With kind regards,
Georg
When will the appraisal be ready
Dear Felecia,
Thank you for the additional images and your patience. The apprised object is a glass sculpture with the measurements of 12 inches height. It depicts a kneeling person holding her face in the hands and is made out of opaline glass. Sadly the artist is not mentioned in the auction databases or similar reference books. Nevertheless, this is a highly decorative glass sculpture. In Venice Murano are many studios of talented glass artist which don't appear in the auction market.
This piece is in good condition and there are no serious damages visible.
A base auction estimation would be between 1000 to 2000 USD.
This estimation is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and vary.
With best regards,
Georg
the base is onyx and is 6x8 inches, the sculpture is 12" tall and 7" from toe to knee
