I am enclosing a photo of a painting that have which can possibly be an original: Etienne Pierre Theodore (TH) Rousseau (1812-1867). The canvas is old and the painting is unsigned. It measures 520 cm X 690 cm. The painting's visual & color quality is very fine although it might need to be cleaned. The verso of the canvas is an aged dark brown color & installed by using (now somewhat rusty) old style nails with large heads. The rear of the canvas has 4 small punctures which were repaired. Can you have your in-house experts look and evaluate it as I would like to sell it. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. I can also be reached directly on my cell: 339-222-9248, Thank You & Regards,

Thank you for submitting your item for apparaisal. This appears to be a late 19th century landscape painting in the tradition of the Dusseldorf academy of painting. I can´t see a connection to Theodore Rousseau, I would rather suggest a late 19th century german, austrian or russian artist. Without a signature it is very difficult to attribute such a painting to a certain artist. The estimate is based on similar paintings of equal quality by lesser known artist, e.g. Victor PUHONNY (1838-1909), sold at auction.
Most buyers chose their own frame. Don´t spend too much money on the frame. Something in a rich gold tone would do. I would put it up for auction. My colleague will try to assist you.
Dear Klaus,
After some research, I do agree that Victor Puhonny is a likely match for my painting. Per your suggestion, I had the painting frames and ready to go for your next auction. Please let me know how to proceed and what the time line might be.
Thank you and look forward to hearing from you.
Regards,
Michael (339-222-9248)

Thank You. My painting is not framed. Do you recommend to be framed? I would think it would need to reflect (design) that timeframe? Or leave it up to the buyer to do? How do I proceed to list this painting for sale in: invaluable? Again, thank you for your help.
Michael
