I was gifted this in 1989 in Washington DC by the band who were on tour and have owned it since then. Unfortunately I have no way of proving this. I’m a white Scottish guy who produces electronic music, and did so at that time. I wore this jacket as protection in DC when I would walk thru the projects. Wearing the hood with silver outside would warn others I was carrying a weapon,, of course I never did, but having TERMINATOR on my silver sleeve earned me massive respect. I’ve not worn it since then, it has been worn tho, but with no tears , rips etc, but looks good after 35yrs.

Hi Alan,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
Public Enemy’s 1989 tour was a landmark moment in hip-hop and popular music. They were touring in support of their hugely influential album "It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back" (1988), which had brought them global attention. The tour was called the “Nation of Millions” tour in the U.S. and also tied into the Fight the Power era as they prepared their next album (Fear of a Black Planet, 1990). They performed with the S1Ws (Security of the First World) on stage, using military-style choreography, which gave their shows a militant and politically charged edge.
While I've not found another exact example, other Public Enemy tour jackets from the late 80s and early 90s have sold at auction for upwards of $300; if you were to sign an affidavit confirming you received this from the band, it might nudge that value a bit higher, but I doubt it would bring as much as $500.
Based on the photos and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:

Hi Alan,
No, we're not a selling platform but Mearto has partnered with Catawick, an online platform that conducts auctions around the world; because of our partnership, linked appraisals by a Mearto appraisal will skip the usual vetting process. For more information on that, see the Catawiki link on our page ( https://www.mearto.com/catawiki). If that's something you'd like to consider, the appraisal link is https://prf.hn/click/camref:1101lHtv3/pubref:delia.
Will you sell this for me ?
