This appears to be an old cast of "two griffon dogs" by Thomas François CARTIER (1879-1943), known by the title " Deux chiens griffons jouant", cast bronze with brown patina, signed "T.Cartier", no foundry mark. Griffons are still being bred and are - not surprisingly- very popular in France. The estimate is based on similar items sold at auction. A hunter who has such dogs might be willing to pay more than the high estimate.
