This is a set of 10 antique, early 20th century, volumes of the Life and Works of Thomas Paine (1737-1809) which was published in 1908 by Vincent Parke and Company for the 100th anniversary of the passing of the author Paine. This is a limited edition set of only 350 printings in Parke's DeLuxe series, Revolutionary Edition. The works were edited by Daniel Edwin Wheeler and signed by hand by him (the image of the numbered edition page here shows there is not a number assigned to that particular volume in this set). Thomas Paine was British born and became and an American political activist. His writings were the inspiration for the American Revolution in 1776. The estimate is for the set altogether. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
