It’s a tilt top table with casters on the feet. I’m sorry I know nothing about it.
Got it at local auction
Good morning, Alison,
Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry.
The shaping of the top is very dynamic, as is the burl graining. The top and base each look to be from the late 19th Century, though it's quite clear that they are a "married" (the industry term for pieces that were not made together). This appears to be an old top on what was once a support for a larger dining table. It was not uncommon for pieces of furniture to suffer damage and then to have the remaining pieces remade or repurposed. If you're curious as to how I know this, I can go into greater detail, just let me know.
If you'd like this appraisal to include dimensions, please forward the height of the table when the top is flat, and the width and depth of the top, in inches, at your convenience and I'll update this.
Based on the photographs and information provided, and subject to examination, this is:
A late Victorian burled walnut tilt top table on an associated base
Probably English, late 19th Century
The oval top with shaped and molded edges with later battens affixed to a late 19th Century pedestal table support with molded block on turned and carved downcurving cabriole legs on casters.
