You have a modern art oil on canvas painting. I had a few other specialists take a look at your photos and unfortunately, we were unable to identify the artist. It appears to be "R. Lemkey" or " D. Lemrey", or some variation of either of those. I was unable to find any auction records for an artist that matches the name on your painting. As such, I have to value it as a strictly decorative piece, until auction or gallery exhibition records for the artist can be established.

Is there any other information that you could provide as far as the time frame of the piece, the type of style the artist represents or others that work in this style. Are you able to make out the date after the signature? I would like to peruse this provonace of this piece further.
From the workmanship of the piece, the wealth of the woman I purchased it from and the repair done to the work make me think that this is more than a decorative piece. The owner did recall purchasing this work in NYC from a gallery next to the “big store”. Perhaps Macy’s. I will share any information I do find as to the artist with your company
