What does this mean?

Thank you for contacting Mearto with your appraisal inquiry, and I apologize for the delay. This is an 1800's military sword made in Toledo, Spain. It was likely for a Spanish officer, but Toledo swords were also made and exported around the world for different countries' militaries. This piece is in overall good condition. The finish of the blade is distressed, with some significant pitting. Most of the etching is still present and legible. The handle is in excellent condition. The brass has a healthy patina, and the ray or fish skin handle is in great shape, with the wire wrap still intact. Given the condition of this piece, and completed auctions of similar items, a fair market estimation is 600-650 dollars. Please reach out with any questions.
