Silk Persian Rug
Ex-husband purchased when station in Saudi Arabia
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a very fine persian silk rug from the city of Qum / Qom / Ghom / Kum / ูู / . The rug in your possession shows in an oval two phoenix birds near a blossoming tree on a dark blue ground, surrounded by a rectangular field decorated with red roses, the queen of flowers, on a near white ground, enclosed by a wide border decorated with flowers, birds and foliage. Both the design and execution is exquisite. The estimate is based on similar rugs offered or sold at auction. "Asking prices", especially in the rug trade, can be higher and vary. The current political situation might lead to a lesser supply and rising prices.
