I think this rug is from the 1920's and I believe is a one of a kind Two Grey Hills Navajo Rug. It's in excellent condition and measures 43"x 56" inches.
It's been in out family for the last 50 years.
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be what you suggested, a two grey hills navajo rug, made of hand spun yarn from the fleece of Churro sheep in the shades of gray and black and white. Such rugs typical sell in the range listed above. Very exceptional pieces sell for up to 4000 USD. Provenance is the key, if you can provide evidence that the rug dates to the mid 20th century it would help to add some value. You could have it scientifically tested for aboveground nuclear-weapons tests isotopes to determin whether it is pre WWII, but it would not increase the value. Either way, it is a nice rug with an exceptional wavy pattern. A serious collector might be willing to pay more than the high estimate.
