57 inches tall, painted picture on front, top and bottom open to storage spaces
Bought it in an online selling space
This is a contemporary, fairly recently made, early 21st century floor clock with battery run clock works insert marked "Williamsburg" on the face. The body form is influenced by the Biedermeier style which was prevalent in the 1st half of the 19th century, about 1815 - 1848. The body is chalk painted with antiquing on the edges and then embellished with a hand painted country scene done in a primitive country folk art style with a church and angel over a homestead with sheep The hand painted vignettes are signed HP 2004. The clockwork is lnot associated with commissioned objects sold officially through Colonial Williamsburg; it is more likely a Chinese made clockwork. The body also serves as a doored storage space. Though unique and one of a kind because of the hand painted scenes, the clock market is currently slumped. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
I included a picture. It is battery operated.
Are the works winding or battery operated? You can check from the back.
