Brass and porcelain. Aprox 14”Hx7Lx4w
Great great grandmother
Thank you for submitting your item for appraisal. This appears to be a french mantle clock of gilt metal - most likely spelter - with Sevres style porcelain by an unknown imitator of the period. The clock was once part of a garniture. This was an inexpensive mass produced but very decorative clock at the time, the typical buyer would have been the upper middle-class family. The estimate is based on similar clocks offered or sold at auction recently.
I have heard it tick but not really sure if it works. It’s been in my family for many generations. It’s absolutely beautiful. While sentimental, in need of cash. Very very heavy.
