This is an antique, later 19th century, about 1870's Victorian era dressing table and 3 drawer chest with large beveled swivel mirror, flanked by candle stands and marble top. The marble top and mirror are ideal for placing a wash basin and pitcher set on it. The drawer pulls are cast molded Italianate style with grotesques. The dresser is done in walnut and burled walnut veneer. This was likely American made, however without a maker mark, label or tag in the drawers, who made this cannot be definitively stated. The Victorian furniture market is currently slumped. Pieces, even the original period pieces, do not sell for what they used to sell for a few decades ago. The market was further impacted by the Recession. The estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparables. Retail 'asking prices' can be higher and vary.
