What does this mean?

Dear Ronald,

Thank you for the new images and your information.

The presented object appears to be a field or staff officer sword M1860. It has a brass handle decorated with the American eagle, a wooden handle, and a steel blade. This model was produced by many different manufacturers and the blade is marked CGS. It was made in the second half of the 19th century. The scabbard is missing.
This piece is in medium condition and there is no serious damage visible in the images provided.
A fair market estimation would be between 150 to 300 USD.
This estimate is based on actual recent past recorded auction sales of comparable items. Retail "asking prices" can be higher and may vary.

With kind regards,
Georg

Hi Georg - hard to get a good photo. The only thing I found on the blade was towards the top. It says C C S
