This is US Navy issued dress sword. It measures 37" from the end of the scabbard to the top of the hilt. The material of the blade is unknown and the scabbard is bamboo with brass accents. Handle is alligator skin wrapped. It has not been cleaned or reconditioned and there was some crude sharpening done to the blade which takes away from the detailed engraving work on the blade. Issued date is unknown.
US Navy Dress Sword belonging to a distant relative. Pervere is inscribed near the hilt and that name is related to my mothers side of the family, generations back. I do not know the era or exact history. I will update this listing as I accumulate more information.
